Elyse Burton is a graduate of Auburn University and further received her master's degree from Auburn in 1997. Upon graduation, she worked at a pediatric outpatient clinic associated with a hospital in South Florida before relocating to Atlanta in 2000. Seeking a change of pace, she treated children with a range of speech and language disorders in Fulton County Schools for 4 years. With a keen desire to help each child individually and work collaboratively with families and teachers, she opened Burton Speech Inc. in 2004. In the past, Elyse has also completed developmental team assessments for Babies Can't Wait and further served the early intervention population in therapy.

In addition to direct speech and language therapy, Elyse provides extensive parent education and training to help parents promote speech and language goals and facilitate carryover into the home environment.  She has also given multiple presentations on speech and language development and disorders, as well as auditory processing disorders to teachers, administrators, and parents.  As a huge proponent of early intervention, she completes speech and language screenings at a variety of private schools and daycares.
